Tajik citizens are advised not to travel to Russia without reason, at least temporarily, due to stricter border controls in that country, the Embassy of Tajikistan to Russia reported.
«Given the ongoing strict control over foreign citizens entering Russia through land border crossings and airports, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation recommends that Tajik citizens temporarily refrain from traveling to Russia unless there is an urgent necessity,» the embassy said in a statement.
In early September, the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan also recommended that its citizens refrain from traveling to Russia, advising Kyrgyz citizens to not hesitate to seek assistance from the country’s embassy in Russia if needed.
The ministry made a similar statement in May 2024, when many media outlets reported that Russian authorities were denying entry to Kyrgyz citizens on a mass scale.
Earlier this month, Kazakhstan’s embassy to Ukraine advised Kazakh citizens to leave that country due to «growing tensions» and security concerns. Those who chose to stay were asked to heed air raid warnings and seek shelter in bomb shelters when necessary.
