Vladimir Putin demonstrates BRICS banknote
President of Russia Vladimir Putin has gotten familiar with a symbolic banknote of BRICS during the organization’s summit in Kazan. The banknote’s design includes flags of all the alliance member states, including Kazakhstan, that in fact had refused to join BRICS.
According to Dmitry Peskov, the official spokesperson for the Russian president, the banknote was printed by «someone of ours, probably by someone from the trade chamber or someone else.» Putin showed the banknote to his ministers after a meeting with a wide smile on his face.
Elvira Nabiullina (the governor of the Central Bank of Russia) didn’t like the banknote, Peskov added.
The banknote’s design includes flags and key landmarks of BRICS member states, including Kazakhstan.
The BRICS banknote symbolizes «the joint efforts that BRICS members pursue within the organization.» Given that BRICS is attempting to expand its influence against NATO, this banknote represents de-dollarization and the emergence of a new financial world order. Interestingly, Kazakhstan announced that it had no plans to join BRICS just a week before the organization’s summit in Kazan, which caused an outcry in Russia.
