Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and French President Emmanuel Macron have signed a mutual declaration. Delegations from both countries have also entered into agreements totaling $2.2 billion.
«During President Tokayev’s official visit to Paris, representatives from both countries signed 36 documents, including one agreement between the two cabinets, 21 agreements between executive agencies and 14 commercial agreements valued at $2.2 billion,» as reported by the president’s press services.
Here is the list of documents signed:
- Readmission agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and France;
- Roadmap on strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and France on critical resources and materials;
- Partner agreement on a strategic partnership between the Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund and Société Generale S.A.;
- Agreement on strategic partnership regarding locomotives between Kazakhstan Railway (Kazakhstan Temir Zholy) and Alstom Transport SA;
- Protocol of agreement on cooperation in the sphere of archaeology between the Margulan Institute of Archaeology and the French National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research (INRAP).
Tokayev arrived in France for a state visit on Nov. 4. Jean-Noël Barrot, French minister of foreign affairs, welcomed Tokayev at the airport in Paris, and on Nov. 5, the president held negotiations with President Macron in an extended format.
The presidents also strolled in the garden at Élysée Palace with Tazy dogs.
