LC Waikiki, a prominent retailer from Turkey, is building a new logistics center worth $12 million, Kazakh Invest reported. This facility will serve as a distribution hub in Central Asia.

Representatives of LC Waikiki revealed some details of the project during a meeting with Gabidulla Ospankulov, chair of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ospankulov also met with representatives of other Turkish companies. For example, S Sistem Lojistik has been constructing a logistics hub in the Aktobe region in conjunction with KazPost. The two sides have already signed a road map, as the Turkish company has pledged to allocate $25 million to implement the initial stage of the project.

Another Turkish company, Orzax, is investing $40 million to establish a production facility for biological supplements in Almaty. The project is expected to create 300 new jobs. Orzax is the leader in the Turkish over-the-counter drug market, exporting its products to more than 50 countries.

Iskefe Holding will build a new production facility to produce 7,000 tons of gelatin per year in Almaty. The $40-million project is expected to create 105 new jobs.

In Shymkent, Turkish Roz Metal is set to launch the production of aluminum and copper billets and blanks. The investor, a major supplier of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, has already begun installation and construction work. Turkish investors also have experience in processing copper, aluminum, lead and brass in the Mangystau and Atyrau regions.
