According to KazTransOil, Ukrainian drone attacks on an oil refinery in Russia’s Bryansk region have not affected the Druzhba pipeline, which transports Kazakhstani oil to Germany.

During the night of Dec. 11, ten Ukrainian drones attacked an oil refinery in the Bryansk region. Some Telegram channels reported a fire at a loading facility belonging to the pipeline, located in the Sven settlement near Bryansk. However, Kazakhstan’s representatives denied this information.

«The attack was on an oil depot. KazTransOil called Transneft, and according to their information, the drones attacked fuel and lubricant depots, not the oil pipeline that transports oil to Germany,» the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan reported.

On Dec. 1, Polish authorities reported an oil leak at the northern line of the Druzhba pipeline near the town of Pniewo. Both KazTransOil and the Ministry of Energy reported at the time that the leak did not affect the transportation of Kazakhstan’s oil to Germany. Six days later, PERN, the Polish pipeline operator, restored the damaged section of the pipeline.

The northern line of Druzhba is used for the transportation of Kazakhstani oil to Germany. The southern line, however, runs from Russia to Hungary and Slovakia. KazTransOil, a subsidiary of KazMunayGas (KMG), Kazakhstan’s national oil company, has already achieved its annual goal of supplying 1.2 million tons to Germany. The company now plans to deliver 1.3 to 1.35 million tons of oil this year, according to KMG CEO Askhat Khassenov.
