Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Construction has unveiled plans for the country’s industrial growth in 2025. The ministry anticipates that 190 projects will be implemented, creating 20,000 new jobs.

A substantial share of the investments will focus on vehicle manufacturing, household appliances and metallurgy. In 2025, the Astana Motors multi-brand plant will open in Almaty to manufacture Chinese car brands Chery, Haval and Changan. With a capacity of up to 90,000 cars annually, the plant will create 2,200 new jobs. The project is expected to receive an investment of $400 million.

Additionally, the KIA Qazaqstan plant is set to open in the Kostanay region with an annual production capacity of 70,000 cars. This project will generate 1,500 new jobs and is estimated to cost $200 million.

Almaty Turmystyq Tehnika Zavody, a new household appliance manufacturing plant, will open in the Almaty region. The facility will produce 750,000 units annually and create 1,200 jobs.

QazAlPack, a packaging company based in Shymkent, will upgrade its aluminum packaging plant, creating 112 new jobs.

TexolTrans, a local transportation services company, will establish a plant in the Atyrau region to manufacture freight cars, creating 180 new jobs.

Kazpoligraf, a leading player in Kazakhstan’s printing industry, will begin producing cardboard packaging for liquid products in the Abay region.

The Turkestan region is set to launch 15 projects, the largest number out of planned investment projects in 2025. Almaty follows closely with 14 projects, while the Kostanay and Karaganda regions are leading in terms of attracted investments. Overall, Kazakhstan’s manufacturing sector is expected to attract over $2 billion in investments.

If these projects are successfully implemented and reach full capacity, they are projected to generate $4 billion in product value, with $1.5 billion in exports. The new plants will also replace imported goods worth $2 billion.
