Tesis, a Kazakhstan-registered company controlled by China Huadian HongKong Company Limited, is set to construct a 40-megawatt solar power plant with a 100-year lifespan in the Shieli district of the Kyzylorda region this year.
«The outlined plan is to construct the Tesis solar power plant with a 40-megawatt output in the Shieli district of the Kyzylorda region. The project is going to consist of two start-up facilities,» Tesis said in a statement.
Each start-up facility will have an output capacity of 20 megawatts. Construction and assembly are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2025 and are expected to be completed within six months. (The exact timeline of the project will be clear once design documents are approved.) The expected lifespan of the plant is 100 years before decommissioning.
The solar power plant site is expected to include systems with photovoltaic modules, five transformer stations, motorways and fire tanks. The project also involves the construction of 10 parking lots and a 500-meter, 220-kilovolt power transmission line connecting to the existing power grid. The site will be enclosed by a two-meter-high mesh fencing.
The solar power plant site will be connected to the Turkestan-Kyzylorda highway via a local road and will span two company-owned land plots, covering 44 hectares and 35 hectares, respectively. The nearest settlement, Kosuyenki, is 3.4 kilometers east of the site.
The sole stakeholder of Tesis, a company specializing in solar energy production, is Huadian Kazakhstan Energy, which is registered in the Astana International Financial Centre and involved in various forms of energy production. Huadian Kazakhstan Energy, in turn, is owned by China Huadian HongKong Company Limited.
