Mira Khalina, editor-in-chief of Kursiv.media, has been elected chairwoman of the expert council under Kazakhstan’s Agency for Regulation and Development of Financial Market (ARDFM) by a majority vote of the council members.

In her acceptance speech, Khalina described the expert council at ARDFM as «a positive initiative demonstrating effectiveness across all spheres.» She emphasized that council members aim to promote financial literacy among Kazakhstanis through joint efforts.

«It’s crucial to identify key areas of financial literacy development. As experts, we understand that previous information formats are no longer as effective as they once were. However, traditional mass media still remains a core channel for communication with people. That’s why we plan to combine various formats and utilize every available communication channel, including television, online news outlets, social media and messengers. The content, of course, will be tailored to each specific channel,» Khalina said.

She added that the council targets secondary and high school students, university students, as well as adult and senior Kazakhstanis as their primary audience.

The expert council currently consists of 35 members representing the financial sector, mass media, public agencies and universities. Membership in the organization has been open to the public since the beginning of this year.
