Owners of Tank 500 Black Edition all-terrain vehicles produced between September and November 2024 will be notified that their cars will be recalled due to the risk of fuel leakage. According to some media reports, the fuel system in these vehicles may operate incorrectly at low temperatures.
One hundred twenty-four cars are expected to be recalled, as reported by the Telegram channel «Chinese Cars / KZ.»
Astana Motors said that official dealers have already started notifying car owners about the need for a technical inspection. If dealers identify any defective parts during the inspection, they will replace them. Owners may also apply for an inspection at a dealer center on their own. They can do so via the 7007 hotline, which is available around the clock.
«A Kazakhstani distributor has already ordered and received all the necessary parts to fix technical issues with recalled cars. All services related to technical inspections and maintenance will be offered free of charge,» Astana Motors said in a statement.
The problem with the fuel system in the Tank 500 has been reported not only in Kazakhstan. In Russia, distributors are recalling three times as many cars as in Kazakhstan (364 vehicles) sold between December 2023 and November 2024. Owners of the Tank 500 are being invited to dealer centers for an «examination and replacement of the fuel tank’s discharge pipe.»
Sales of the Chinese-made Tank 500 started in Kazakhstan in July 2023. The Black Edition was presented in the fall of 2024. In mid-January, Kursiv Auto introduced its ranking of best-selling cars in Kazakhstan. The sales of the Tank 500 doubled last year, as Kazakhstanis bought more than 2,000 vehicles of this brand.
