Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit Moscow for the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. The last time the Chinese leader attended such a parade in the Russian capital was in 2015.

According to Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov, Xi has accepted an invitation to take part in the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow. He shared this information in an interview with the Russia-24 TV channel.

«In turn, Xi Jinping has invited Vladimir Putin to visit China for celebrations planned for early September,» Morgulov said.

The Kremlin has confirmed that preparations for Putin’s visit to China in September 2025 are already underway.

«Yes, we are working on these contacts. We are preparing these visits,» said Dmitry Peskov, the official spokesperson for the Russian president.

Earlier this month, Putin personally invited Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and other leaders of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states to attend the May 9 celebrations in Moscow. Military personnel from these countries are also expected to take part in the parade.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan is also preparing for a military parade to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. It will be the first such parade in five years.
