Amazon Kuiper is anticipated to launch its satellite internet services in Kazakhstan next year. Meanwhile, the company is preparing to roll out commercial services across the country, as reported by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Digital Development.

The ministry’s officials have already discussed a wide range of issues related to the deployment of the Kuiper network in Kazakhstan with representatives of Amazon.

«The new solution will provide high-speed internet access to regions where traditional network infrastructure operates inefficiently. Amazon is set to launch commercial services in Kazakhstan in 2026,» the agency said in a statement.

The ministry is currently working out the project’s details in conjunction with Amazon in a way that would enable Kazakhstan to «emerge as an important part of the global satellite ecosystem.»

Earlier this month, Amazon Kuiper Kazakhstan Limited was registered within the Astana International Financial Centre with an authorized capital of approximately $958,000. The new entity is expected to provide internet access to Kazakhstani users via non-geostationary satellite systems.

In September 2024, Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev revealed a plan to partner with Amazon Kuiper. At the time, he claimed that the move would allow Kazakhstanis to access better internet services at reasonable prices.

Kuiper Systems LLC, an Amazon subsidiary established in 2019, specializes in developing and providing satellite broadband internet. The company is also referred to as Project Kuiper.
