Five new nonferrous metal enterprises worth approximately $85.6 million will be commissioned in Kazakhstan later this year, according to the Kazakhstan Industry and Export Center QazIndustry.

Among the new projects is a doré bar (semi-pure alloy of gold and silver) production facility, as well as copper cathode and aluminum profile manufacturing plants. Once these facilities reach full capacity, they are expected to produce goods worth approximately $71.5 million annually. Of this, about $9.2 million worth of products will be exported, while $62.4 million worth of products will be supplied to the domestic market to substitute imported goods. These plants will create 1,300 jobs.

Additionally, QazIndustry reported that a total of 36 non-ferrous metallurgy-related projects worth approximately $4.5 billion are in the implementation phase. They are expected to create 9,800 jobs. Of these, 7,600 vacancies will be in rural areas and 2,200 in urban areas. Once operating at full capacity, these projects will manufacture products worth $4.3 billion annually, including $2.4 billion worth of products for export, with the majority of projects being implemented in the Karaganda region.

Last year, 10 projects worth $280.7 million were implemented, creating 1,500 jobs. These included doré bar, refined copper sheet, aluminum wire rod, refined lead, and copper and aluminum ingot production facilities. Once they reach full capacity, their annual production volume is expected to be worth $236 million, with $144.3 million designated for export.
