The new airport building in Almaty, completed in 2024, has been named the «Best New Airport Terminal 2025» and «Best Regional Airport in Central Asia / CIS 2025» by Skytrax, a prominent U.K.-based international air transport rating organization.
Each year, the company conducts the World Airport Awards ceremony, where Almaty and Astana airports have been recognized as the best this year.
«Skytrax recognition reflects our commitment to high-quality services and passenger satisfaction,» said Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted, highlighting that the new terminal sets a new quality benchmark for the region.
«The international terminal has set a new standard for infrastructure projects in the region, and its first award as the best regional airport in Central Asia and the CIS confirms Almaty Airport’s growing reputation among passengers,» he added.
Meanwhile, Astana Airport was ranked second in the regional ranking.
In addition, Skytrax presented its new top-20 airports, with Changi Airport in Singapore, as expected, topping the list. The airport itself is considered a sight to behold, thanks to its numerous gardens and the world’s largest and tallest indoor waterfall.
