Freedom Cloud, a subsidiary of Freedom Holding Corp., has signed a partnership agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS), marking the first official collaboration between a local cloud provider and a global cloud technology leader in Central Asia, according to the company’s press service.

From now on, clients of Freedom Cloud — companies, startups or government agencies — will be granted access to all AWS features, from cloud computing and data storage to artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) services, DevOps automation and the world’s best security solutions. This means that businesses in Kazakhstan will be able to use the same technological tools as global giants like Amazon, Netflix, NASA and Pfizer — without needing to leave the country.

«We see it not merely as a step forward in development, but as a bold claim to leadership. We want Kazakhstan to not only be just a consumer of IT services, but to emerge as an active player in the global digital landscape. And to achieve this goal, we are introducing a wide range of state-of-the-art technologies,» said Temirlan Zinalabdin, managing director of Freedom Cloud.

The company has been running a network of data centers in Kazakhstan that fully meet international standards. Amid growing dependence on foreign platforms, the development of domestic cloud infrastructure and hybrid solutions has become a strategic priority for digital security. Cooperation with AWS will enable the implementation of hybrid solutions — ranging from secure data storage to high-load AI computing tasks.

«A lot of people ask why we need global partners. It’s simple: we want Kazakhstani startups to be competitive in Singapore, Berlin and San Francisco. We want our government’s digital services to be aligned with the best GovTech practices. And we want talented engineers to find meaningful challenges in their home country,» Zinalabdin explained.

Thanks to the partnership with AWS, Kazakhstani startups will gain access to acceleration opportunities through the AWS Activate Startup Program and be able to enter the global AWS Marketplace platform. Meanwhile, engineers will have the opportunity to obtain international certifications and develop products that are in global demand.

Freedom Cloud is a local cloud provider offering a wide range of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions. The company is also developing high-load computing capabilities, Kubernetes-based orchestration, object storage, graphics processor unit (GPU)-powered and AI cloud services for businesses and government agencies.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), owned by Amazon and used by millions of organizations worldwide — ranging from startups to major institutions like NASA and Netflix — is the world’s largest cloud platform, offering a wide range of IT services.
