The Kentucky Consular Center has announced the selectees of the DV-2025 Diversity Visa Program. This program, conducted under Section 203(c) of the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, provides selected individuals with the opportunity to apply for a Green Card, officially known as a permanent resident card that allows foreigners to live and work in the U.S.

Uzbekistan topped the list of winners, with 5,564 nationals selected for the Green Card. Among neighboring states, Kyrgyzstan followed with 3,095 selectees, while Kazakhstan lagged behind with only 2,004.

The program grants up to 55,000 permanent resident visas each year to citizens of countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. This year, around 131,000 applicants have been selected to apply for an immigrant visa.

The purpose of the program is to diversify U.S. immigration, and the results highlight the active participation of citizens from Central Asian states. The winners must now attend an interview and submit their documents before September 30, 2025.

For 2025, citizens of countries from which more than 50,000 people have immigrated to the U.S. over the past five years are excluded from the lottery.
