A resident of Aktobe tried to sell one of his internal organs for 15 million tenge (approximately $29,500). However, the deal was cut short by the organized crime enforcement task force after the Aktobe region prosecutor’s office initiated the prosecution.

According to the agency, they had identified the information about an illegal attempt to sell an internal organ during routine monitoring of social networks.

Once the data was received, prosecutors immediately notified the local police department, and on April 30, the suspect was detained. According to investigators, the man was looking for a buyer for an organ he planned to sell for about $30,000.

As a result, law enforcement authorities initiated a pretrial investigation, following Article 116, Part 1 of the national criminal code, which could basically apply to any case related to illegal trade in human organs.

No details have been disclosed concerning the organ the suspect tried to sell or whether he had any accomplices.

According to prosecutors, the investigation into the case is still underway.

Last September, another Kazakh citizen in Aktobe attempted to sell his organs for 9 million tenge (approximately $17,700).
