Speaking on the country’s digital transformation, Tokayev emphasized Google’s important role in this process. He also shared Kazakhstan’s plans to become the largest digital hub in Eurasia and the leader in the use of artificial intelligence. In pursuit of these objectives, the country is actively developing its digital infrastructure and enhancing its computing capabilities.
In turn, the guest shared his opinion on Kazakhstan’s digital transformation efforts.
«Patrick Warnking highly praised Kazakhstan’s progress in building infrastructure and training specialists to shape an AI-powered digital future,» the president’s office press service stated.
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Zhaslan Madiyev announced the arrival of Google executives in Kazakhstan in late April.
Earlier this year, the minister also announced that Kazakhstan and OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, agreed to collaborate on integrating AI into public services and education. In addition, the two sides are negotiating the introduction of KazLLM, a large language model for the Kazakh language, into OpenAI products, as well as the creation of e-government AI services and the launch of various educational programs. OpenAI will also participate in major Kazakhstani forums, including the C5+1 Tech Conference, the Astana International Forum and Digital Bridge 2025.
