Kazakhstan’s banking elite: National Bank reveals most profitable lenders

Kazakhstani banks earned approximately $1.7 billion in net profit during the first four months of 2025, according to data released by the National Bank. April alone accounted for nearly $470 million, a record monthly figure so far this year.
Top 5 banks by net profit (January-April 2025):
Halyk Bank – $170 million in April; $653 million total.
Kaspi Bank – $89 million in April; $340 million total.
Bank CenterCredit – $38 million in April; $192 million total.
Jusan Bank – $33 million in April; $110 million total.
ForteBank – $32 million in April; $114 million total.
Following the top five, Otbasy Bank reported nearly $19 million in April profit, bringing its year-to-date total to $90 million.
Citibank Kazakhstan posted $14.5 million in April and $54 million since January. Bank RBK earned $12.5 million in April and $46 million total, while Bereke Bank posted $9.7 million for the month and $35.6 million so far.
Rounding out the top 10, Home Credit Bank reported $8.2 million in April and $26.8 million in total net profit for 2025 so far.
