Kazakh medtech startup raises $150,000 following $2 million valuation

Kazakhstani startup Metaclinic, which provides online medical consultations, has closed a $150,000 funding round at a $2 million valuation, Digitalbusiness.kz reported. The investment came from a multi-specialty clinic chain.
The Metaclinic team plans to allocate the raised funds toward further developing and scaling the service through B2B partnerships. While the startup will focus primarily on operations in Kazakhstan, it doesn’t rule out expanding into other countries in the future.
According to Metaclinic founder and CEO Nurali Ismagulov, the startup has seen more than a tenfold increase in revenue in under a year. He added that a patient seeking medical advice on a particular issue undergoes between two and three consultations through Metaclinic on average, demonstrating both trust and strong demand from users and doctors.
Ismagulov noted that his team sees potential not only in Kazakhstan but also in international markets, and they are already preparing to scale.
Founded in 2024, Metaclinic is a startup that offers 24/7 online medical consultations. The platform connects users with a wide range of specialists from partnering clinics, including primary care physicians, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists and psychotherapists.
However, this is not the only successful MedTech initiative in Kazakhstan. Med365, founded in 2019, supplies equipment for one-minute medical examinations, targeting workers supposed to be healthy and sober, such as bus and taxi drivers. In February, the company’s CEO announced the installation of such equipment at gas stations across Kazakhstan, with each checkup costing less than one dollar.
Among recent larger-scale developments, an Indian company announced earlier this week its readiness to construct a $30 million multi-specialty hospital in Kazakhstan.
