Almaty locals spotted unusual filming activities. Movie makers from India, carrying South Korean flags, gathered near the Kazakh-British Technical University.
It seems Bollywood is embracing new locations — the streets of Almaty. The filming location was massive, with crowd extras and Indian actors. One can only guess what the final product will be — a new blockbuster, action movie, melodrama or simply a music video.

A blunt guess would be that part of the plot takes place in South Korea, as the actors were holding the country’s flags.

Among the odd scene participants, one Indian actor covered in fake blood stood out — seemingly Varun Tej. He is 35 and actively performs in both action and melodrama movies. The actor runs a personal blog on Instagram with 3.7 million subscribers.

Then, the setting moved to Arbat, where filming presumably continued.
Earlier this week, Kazakhstan announced plans to develop its film tourism industry and outlined goals for attracting international filmmakers.
Furthermore, among the music bands that chose Kazakhstan as a filming location was the Bashkir group Ay Yola, which filmed a music video in the deserts of Mangystau.
