President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree approving changes to the structure of the presidential administration, as reported by UzDaily.uz.

The document effectively introduces a new position within the administration — «head of the presidential administration.» Under the edict, the president’s eldest daughter, Saida Mirziyoyeva, has been appointed to this post.

Prior to this, she had been serving as assistant to the president since November 2022, overseeing the communications and information policy sector within the executive office of the administration.

Mirziyoyeva studied economics at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent. She also obtained a master’s degree from Tashkent State Law University and Moscow State University. She holds a Candidate of Economic Sciences degree.

Between 2019 and 2020, Mirziyoyeva served as deputy director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the administration of the president of Uzbekistan. She later became deputy chairperson of the board of trustees of the Fund for Support and Development of National Mass Media.

On June 17, President Mirziyoyev visited Astana to participate in the second Central Asia–China summit. He met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, along with President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan.
