The Almaty mountains are preparing to host several tourist attraction facilities at once. Kursiv Lifestyle reveals what awaits the city’s locals and guests.
Construction of the spectacular Arman-köpir footbridge on the outskirts of the metropolis is nearing completion. The bridge will be 77 meters long and will lead to a future sports club for school students called Myn Bala.
According to the plan, the new complex will operate year-round, offering opportunities for active recreation, athletic training and open-air educational programs.
In addition, a 912-square-meter multifunctional gym is being built near the bridge, along with 12 compact residential modules to provide a comfortable stay for tourists and athletes.
The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Earlier this year, a hiking trail called Zhumbak Zhol was opened in the Gorelnik Springs area, leading to the visitor center and Apa Katya café. The 285-meter trail passes through a scenic area and is equipped with rest zones, night lighting and informational stands.
For those who find the ascent to Apa Katya too easy, there’s a trail leading up to the Shymbulak ski resort. Tourists who reach the resort on foot will receive free tea and coffee — at least in the morning.
