President Tokayev signs amendments to the Tax Code into law

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed into law the amendments and additions to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Taxes and Other Mandatory Payments to the Budget» (Tax Code), officially putting them into force, according to the Akorda press service.
According to an earlier version of the law published on the Senate website, operators of online platforms are now required to provide tax authorities with information about registered users — such as taxi drivers, couriers and others — if those users receive payments for services outside the platform.
The law also obliges banks to provide, upon request from tax authorities, information about the bank accounts and balances of Kazakhstani citizens who are required to submit declarations of assets and liabilities.
In addition, banks must report the movement of funds in bank accounts if a citizen has acquired property worth more than 20,000 Monthly Calculation Indexes (MCI) within a year.
Credit bureaus are required to transfer information on debts to collection agencies and microfinance organizations involving individuals who are obligated to file income and property declarations. The law also clarifies which categories of individuals are required to submit such declarations at the end of the year.
It is worth noting that these provisions took effect on Jan. 1, 2025, and are now fully in force.
