Euronews has finished filming two new episodes of its program «Modern Nomads» about the epic tourist routes of Kazakhstan. This time, the crew visited Baikonur and Katon-Karagay, as reported by Kazakh Tourism.

Filming for both episodes has been completed, with broadcasts scheduled for September.

What Euronews filmed in Baikonur

At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the crew managed to capture a rocket launch, which happens six to seven times a year on average.

The episode will showcase the Gagarin’s Start launch site, the Buran spacecraft, the museum of the Baikonur city and other notable locations.

Viewers will also see the dynamic test stand, assembly and fueling complex. The episode will also cover interesting sites in the Kyzylorda region, including the Korkyt Ata Memorial Complex and the museum of regional studies.

What Euronews filmed in Katon-Karagay

The second episode is dedicated to Katon-Karagay National Park in East Kazakhstan.

The crew visited Rakhmanov Springs, the Kokkol Waterfall, as well as the villages of Uryl and Korobikha.

Special attention is given to traditional folk medicine. The episode explores pantotherapy (a treatment using young elk antlers), apitherapy (an alternative medicine practice that uses bees and bee products), and the production of dietary supplements and medicines from locally sourced natural ingredients.

«Modern Nomads» airs on Euronews in English, French and other languages. In each episode, the reporter introduces viewers to Kazakhstan’s culture, nature and tourism opportunities. Earlier episodes covered Turkestan and the natural landscapes of Mangystau.
