Kazakhstani company Astana Motors is set to become an official distributor of the Chery car brand in the Czech Republic. This fall, Chery will debut in Czechia with its two models, Chery Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8, equipped with gasoline and plug-in hybrid powertrains (PHEV). This is the first instance of a Kazakh business expanding into the European Union (EU) in this segment.
Chery’s entry into Czechia will be carried out with the active involvement of Astana Motors. The company has been successfully promoting the brand in Kazakhstan for several years, establishing a wide dealership network and local production in the country. This case is planned to be adapted for the Czech market.
«This reflects recognition of our business approach aligning with international standards. We endorse Chery’s values, which are technological effectiveness, affordability and sustainability. Our team knows how to launch a brand in new conditions and will apply this experience in Czechia with enthusiasm,» stated Nurlan Smagulov, the founder of Astana Motors.

Alex Zhang, country director at Chery International in the Czech Republic, expressed his full support for the initiative, highlighting that cooperation with Astana Motors will aid in strengthening the Chery brand in Czechia.
The launch of sales in the European country is part of the Chinese manufacturer’s global growth strategy. Entering European markets, including Central Europe, opens up new opportunities for a brand. This is especially true for Chery, given the growing interest in hybrid and alternative powertrains.
However, Chery is not the first Chinese brand to expand across European markets, according to Astana Motors.
