Kyrgyzstan honors Kazakh superstar Dimash Qudaibergen with new national title

On July 22, the Fourth International Festival of Popular Music Performers Meikin Asia took place in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. During the closing ceremony, Kazakhstani singer and composer Dimash Qudaibergen was awarded the title of People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, as reported by Dimashnews.com.
Kyrgyz State Secretary Marat Imankulov, joined by the country’s Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev, presented the award to the singer. The title was conferred in accordance with a decree issued by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
Notably, Qudaibergen already holds the title of People’s Artist of Kazakhstan.
Earlier this month, the singer adopted the image of a mighty Kazakh warrior — batyr — sharing photos of himself in the new persona on Instagram. At first, fans could hardly recognize their idol.
Also in July, Qudaibergen planted a caimito, a symbolic tree for Vietnam, during his art trip to the country.
