A HOWO truck production facility is set to be established in the city of Saran in the Karaganda region. The Chinese heavy-duty truck manufacturer Sinotruk has joined the Kazakh company Saran Machinery, as reported by Primeminister.kz.

The plant is expected to produce up to 10,000 commercial and specialized vehicles annually. It will also be equipped with a modern cataphoretic metal coating line — the first of its kind in Kazakhstan — a technology that protects vehicle bodies from corrosion and extends their lifespan.

Several components are planned to be made from galvanized steel produced at Qarmet, a Kazakh metallurgical plant, which will increase local content and use more domestic raw materials.

Once it reaches full capacity, the enterprise will provide up to 1,000 jobs. Equipment deliveries are scheduled for fall 2025, and the welding and painting lines are set to launch in Q2 2026.

According to Kazakhstan’s official eGov.kz database, Saran Machinery is owned by the Saranskiy MashZavod (Saran Machine-Building Plant), which is in turn controlled by Tehnopark.kz and Timur Karbayev, who is also a founder of Tehnopark.kz.
