Azerbaijan introduces visa-on-arrival for 2025 Baku Formula 1 Grand Prix

Azerbaijan has announced a temporary visa-on-arrival program to facilitate entry for international visitors attending the 2025 Formula 1 Grand Prix in Baku.

From Aug. 25 to Sep. 30, 2025, travelers holding an official race ticket, FIA accreditation, or documentation from the Baku City Circuit will be able to obtain a visa directly at the country’s international airports. The measure removes the need for prior embassy appointments or standard visa applications.

The initiative is designed to streamline access for fans, media representatives, and race staff ahead of the Grand Prix, which will take place in Baku from Sep. 19 to 21, 2025.

Authorities anticipate that the event will draw significant international attention and a large number of visitors. According to government officials, the program forms part of Azerbaijan’s broader strategy to strengthen its position as a global destination for major sporting events and to boost international tourism.
