Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra at IFA 2025 in Berlin, positioning them as the Android equivalent of Apple’s iPad Pro. The Ultra model is just 5.1 mm thick, the same as Apple’s latest iPad Pro. The standard Tab S11 is slightly thicker at 5.6 mm. Prices start at $800 for the Tab S11 and $1,200 for the Ultra, both of which are available now, according to Wired.
Key features and performance
The 11-inch Tab S11 and 14.6-inch Tab S11 Ultra feature AMOLED displays with 120-Hz refresh rates and 1,600-nit brightness, run on Android 16, and come with a redesigned S Pen for improved grip and precision. Both use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ chip, start with 12 GB RAM, and offer expandable storage. The Ultra adds Wi-Fi 7, an extra rear camera, and more base storage.
Samsung also improved its DeX desktop mode, introducing Extended Mode for dual-screen multitasking and up to four customizable workspaces.
AI and productivity
Both tablets integrate Google’s Gemini Live for real-time, multimodal interaction, alongside Samsung Galaxy AI features such as Drawing Assist and Writing Assist. With IP68 ratings, fast charging and seven-year software support, Samsung is targeting both professionals and creatives.
Galaxy S25 FE joins the lineup
Alongside the tablets, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 FE, a midrange phone priced from $650. It features a 6.7-inch display with a 120-Hz refresh rate powered by the Exynos 2400 chipset, and offers up to 256 GB of storage. The S25 FE includes a triple-camera system (50 MP main, 8 MP telephoto, 12 MP ultrawide), a 12 MP selfie camera, and AI-powered tools such as Instant Slow-Mo and Audio Eraser. With a 4,900-mAh battery and 45-watt charging, it strikes a balance between flagship-like performance and a more accessible price.
