Harvard University has welcomed a new teacher from Kazakhstan. Assel Amangeldi, a graduate of the Ivy League institution, has been invited to join the teaching team at the world’s oldest and wealthiest university.
Amangeldi shared the news on social media, reflecting on the academic journey that brought her to this milestone.
«Last year, one of my favorite classes was Innovations in Education, led by Michael Horn, a leading figure in educational technology. I had the privilege of serving an official academic role as his Teacher Fellow. Now, I’ll be part of the teaching process myself,» she explained.
In her new position, Amangeldi will assist in delivering lectures, guiding case studies, and supporting students in their coursework.
Alongside this academic achievement, she continues to manage her main professional role in the U.S., run a personal blog and operate her own English language school — all while raising her young son.
«Opportunities like this don’t come often. Teaching at Harvard, especially alongside such a professor, is a dream come true. Some dreams take years, others decades, but they do happen,» Amangeldi emphasized.
