Tyler Robinson, the suspect arrested in the Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s murder, sent a text message expressing his intent to kill Kirk and wrote a physical note stating that he had the «opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk,» Reuters reported, citing FBI Director Kash Patel.

Patel also told Fox News’s «Fox & Friends» that the written note had been destroyed; however, investigators managed to collect forensic evidence through interviews confirming its existence and content.

In the same interview, the FBI chief said that DNA matching Robinson was discovered on a towel wrapped around the firearm that was reportedly the assassination weapon, as well as on the screwdriver found on the rooftop where the shot was fired.

Furthermore, according to The Washington Post, citing two people familiar with the chat and screenshots obtained by the newspaper, Robinson posted a message that could be assessed as a confession on the voice and messaging platform Discord in a private group chat, reportedly among a small circle of online friends, prior to turning himself over to authorities late on Sept. 11.

«Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this,» the message sent from the account belonging to Tyler read.
