Tiger handler killed in attack at Oklahoma preserve

A tiger handler was killed Saturday in an attack while working at Growler Pines Tiger Preserve in Hugo, Oklahoma, according to NBC News.
Described by the preserve as a dedicated caretaker with a deep commitment to wildlife conservation, the victim was identified as Ryan Easley.
«This tragedy is a painful reminder of both the beauty and unpredictability of the natural world,» the center said in a statement on Facebook.
All tours and animal encounters have been suspended until further notice.
Growler Pines is a private preserve that offers guided tours and educational programs on big cats. After the attack, PETA reiterated its position that direct human interaction with apex predators is unsafe, urging facilities to relocate animals to accredited sanctuaries.
