The cult pop boy band, at their peak in the late 1990s, shared their impressions in a large, heartfelt post on Instagram, accompanied by a photo set from performances and backstage moments in Almaty and Astana.

«From the moment we touched down till the moment we departed, we felt truly welcomed, loved and embraced in the country of Kazakhstan. We felt the generosity of so many people that we met along the way and send our sincerest thanks to everyone who came out to shows in Astana and Almaty. It was definitely a trip to remember!» the group members wrote in the caption.

The cultural program prepared for the group was eventful, to say the least. The first concert took place in Almaty on Sept. 19. Ahead of the performance, the Backstreet Boys were shown one of Almaty’s iconic sites, the Shymbulak ski resort, where Kevin Richardson posed wearing a shapan (a traditional Kazakh coat) with a golden eagle perched on his hand. In Astana, the group members visited Baiterek and planted trees.

Nick Carter posted a photo from the aircraft on Instagram, wearing a T-shirt from a Kazakh brand. Following the concerts, four group members also shared photos from a local steam bathhouse.
