Taylor Swift’s latest album, «The Life of a Showgirl,» exploded onto the scene, smashing multiple music industry records within just 24 hours of its release, according to Euronews.

According to data from Luminate, the pop star’s 12th studio album soared to 2.7 million copies sold in the U.S. on its first day, flying past her previous record set by «The Tortured Poets Department» in 2024, which sold 2.6 million units in its debut week.

The new release now commands the second-highest single-week sales tally in history, just behind Adele’s 2015 album 25, which moved 3.4 million copies in its first week. Industry analysts are buzzing, predicting that Swift could surpass that figure once full-week data is released on Oct. 12.

In a flurry of excitement, Swift also released four limited-edition CDs featuring acoustic versions of eight tracks from the new album. Moreover, her accompanying film, «Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,» stormed the global box office, debuting at number one worldwide.
