Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé brought up the trip to Kazakhstan, reacting to a post by his clubmate Arda Güler on Instagram.
The Turkish midfielder posted a photo from the jet after the match against Kairat in Almaty, showing Güler himself and a sleeping Mbappé.
In the Sept. 30 match against Kairat, the French forward scored a hat trick in the 74th minute.
«Kazakhstan’s trip was not easy, lil bro,» the comment read.

The post quickly spread across social media, sparking mixed reactions. Users interpreted the message as if the footballer hinted that he had not enjoyed his time in the country. However, it was the difficult trip that was actually being referred to. Several users expressed their discontent, saying that their own and other people’s travel experiences are far less comfortable in most cases, citing long car journeys and economy-class flights as examples. Mbappé has since deleted the comment.
Nevertheless, Real Madrid was warmly welcomed and eagerly anticipated by fans in Kazakhstan upon the team’s arrival, and Mbappé immediately drew positive attention when he gently hugged a little boy who ran up to him and gave an autograph to another young fan. Later, during a training session, the French forward met with a Kazakh boy with disabilities, Sanzhar, who had long dreamed of this meeting.
