Polish football manager Michał Probierz could head Kazakhstan’s national team, as reported by Kanalsportowy.pl, citing Mateusz Borek, a well-known journalist in Poland. According to him, the 53-year-old specialist has reached an agreement with the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF). The official announcement of the appointment is expected later.
A native of the Polish city Bytom, during his football career Probierz played for both Polish and German clubs. Over more than 20 years of coaching, he has worked with numerous teams but has not achieved major success with any of them.
The Polish specialist has managed both the U21 national team and the senior national team, from which he resigned following an argument with Robert Lewandowski in June.
The KFF began searching for a new coach after Kazakhstan’s national team suffered a crushing 0-6 defeat to Belgium in Brussels during the World Cup qualifiers, which was followed by the resignation of then-manager Ali Aliyev. The upcoming matches against Liechtenstein and North Macedonia will be managed by Talgat Baysufinov, who, according to Borek, will subsequently be replaced by Probierz.
