«The Shadow’s Edge,» the latest action thriller by martial arts legend Jackie Chan, is performing well at the box office, earning positive audience feedback and strong ticket sales, according to Movieweb.

Directed by Larry Yang and inspired by the 2007 Hong Kong film Eye in the Sky, the movie centers on a retired investigator drawn into a high-stakes pursuit of a criminal mastermind behind a sophisticated heist.

Early audience reaction has been strong, as indicated by a 97% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes based on over 100 verified ratings, according to the article. Commercially, the movie’s success is apparent; it has already surpassed 1 billion yuan ($140 million) at the box office.

Moreover, at 71, the action movie star is showing no signs of slowing down, with an action-packed slate that reportedly includes «Five Against a Bullet,» «New Police Story,» «Panda Plan 2» and the much-anticipated «Rush Hour 4.»

Meanwhile, fans spotted Chan in Kazakhstan, where he allegedly plans to make the concluding part of the «Armour of God» saga, subtitled «Ultimatum». According to Salem Entertainment, a Kazakhstani studio involved in the project, it promises to be one of the largest film productions in the country’s history.

It is worth mentioning that in recent years, Kazakhstan has attracted increasing attention from international filmmakers. The country’s capital, Astana, appeared as a cyberpunk city in «Alter», while the Green Bazaar in Almaty served as a set portraying a South Korean location in a project by an Indian crew.
