U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has revealed that the U.S. will deliver new «firepower» to Ukraine via European allies willing to pay for it. The statement was made shortly before NATO defense ministers gathered in Brussels and it is still unclear what kind of «firepower» U.S. officials were talking about, as reported by CNN.

According to Hegseth, «commitments» made by European nations to purchase American weapons would soon translate into real «capabilities» for Ukraine. The initiative is part of the new Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), which has already attracted $2 billion in pledges for military hardware — with more expected to follow.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has been lobbying for the U.S.-made Tomahawk cruise missiles, which could allow it to strike deep inside Russia. This topic is expected to be one of the central issues for negotiations between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday.
