FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski might continue his career with Turkish club Fenerbahçe. According to the Turkish media outlet Fanatik, the Istanbul football club is ready to start negotiations with the 37-year-old Polish footballer.

The outlet noted that Fenerbahçe president Sadettin Saran wants to create a sensation in the transfer market by signing Lewandowski. The club is reportedly ready to offer the player a two-year contract.

Lewandowski’s current agreement with FC Barcelona is valid until the summer of 2026. Earlier, the player’s agent, Pini Zahavi, said that the Catalan club’s management had not offered a contract extension to the striker. Barcelona’s executives believe that Lewandowski’s age will not allow him to maintain his previous level of performance.

Fenerbahçe understands that it will have to compete with other teams to sign the Polish player, especially with clubs from Saudi Arabia. However, the striker himself reportedly wants to remain in Europe — a preference that Fenerbahçe is counting to.

Lewandowski is currently recovering from an injury sustained during a national team match. In the 2026 World Cup qualifying win over Lithuania, the striker injured his thigh muscles and is expected to be sidelined for about five weeks. As Marca noted, Barcelona is frustrated by Lewandowski’s injury, as the Catalan club is already dealing with numerous injured players ahead of the first El Clásico of the season.
