Magzhan Ilyassov becomes Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the United States

Magzhan Ilyassov, formerly Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland with concurrent accreditation to Iceland and Ireland, has been appointed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United States of America.
Biography
1996–1998: Assistant and Attaché, Department of International Organizations and International Economic Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
1998–1999: Third and Second Secretary, Department of the United Nations and International Economic Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
1999–2007: Served in the International Visits Department of the Presidential Protocol of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2007–2012: Headed the Foreign Policy Center, Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2013: Served as advisor to the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2013–2016: Advisor to the President – Head of the Foreign Policy Center, Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2016–2020: Served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
2020–2022: Served as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations (UN) in New York.
2022-2025: Served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, with concurrent accreditation to Iceland and Ireland.
