On Oct. 21, Central Stadium in Almaty will host the UEFA Champions Matchday Three between Kairat and Cypriot club Pafos. Kursiv LifeStyle shows how the buzz in social media comments has surpassed interest in the match itself.
The visitors arrived in Almaty in the early hours of Oct. 21. The team posted a video from the airport on its official Instagram account with the caption:
«Long trip, big smiles and a unique welcome in Almaty!»
The club also shared a video from a training session at Central Stadium. Fans of Pafos expressed their support for the players; however, the comment section has been dominated by Kazakhstani football fans.
Users wrote that Kairat would «dish it out» to the Cypriot club, wished luck to the opponent and argued about the upcoming score. Several fans even urged Pafos not to underestimate the team from Almaty.
At the same time, demand for this match has been weaker than for the previous matchday against Real Madrid. That game sold out almost immediately, while for the upcoming one there are still a few tickets available. In Kazakhstan, ticket sales are available exclusively through the Freedom SuperApp and the FC Qairat SuperApp.
The Kairat vs. Pafos match will take place at 9:45 p.m. at Central Stadium in Almaty. Earlier, Pafos center-back David Luiz said that the match against Kairat would be difficult.
