Freedom Holding Corp. is preparing to introduce a new feature that will allow travelers in Kazakhstan to view the carbon footprint of their flights. During the Kursiv ESG Conference 2025 in Almaty on Oct. 21, Baglana Mussina, the company’s chief sustainable development officer, announced that the feature will be available on the Aviata platform, though no specific launch date has been provided.
«We have Aviata — Freedom Travel — and we’re launching a project where anyone purchasing a ticket, for example, from Almaty to Astana, will be able to see their personal carbon footprint for that trip and have the option to plant a tree,» Mussina said.
She added that such initiatives go beyond corporate responsibility, aiming to promote greater environmental awareness.
Freedom Holding Corp. is a leading brokerage and investment holding company operating across Central Asia and Eastern Europe. The company is led by CEO and majority shareholder Timur Turlov.
