Real Madrid midfielder Arda Güler has played 75 matches for the club, according to Turkish sports outlet Fanatik. As a result, the Spanish club must pay €2 million to Fenerbahçe under one of the performance-based bonus clauses in Güler’s transfer agreement.

Güler’s 75th appearance for the club came on Nov. 1. At home, Real Madrid thrashed Valencia 4-0. Güler was in the starting lineup, assisted Kylian Mbappé, and was substituted at halftime when the score was 3-0. This marked the Spanish club’s 10th victory over 11 matchdays. Real Madrid has 30 points and leads the La Liga table, while FC Barcelona, in second place, trails by five points.

Güler joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahçe about two years ago, when he was 18. The fixed transfer fee was €20 million. Moreover, the Turkish club included bonuses in the contract — €2 million for every 25 matches played by Güler. After his 125th match, the bonus payouts stop. Therefore, the maximum amount is €10 million, six million of which has already been earned by his former club.

Arda Güler, 20, came through the Gençlerbirliği (Ankara) academy. In 2019, he moved to the Fenerbahçe academy and began his senior career there in 2021. In the summer of 2023, the Turkish player signed a six-year contract with Real Madrid. Across all competitions, Güler has played 75 matches for the Spanish club, scoring 15 goals and providing 17 assists. In 2024, he won both the UEFA Champions League and La Liga.

Güler made his debut for the Turkish national team in 2022 at age 17 and has since been involved in 12 goals across 21 appearances, scoring six and assisting six.

Transfermarkt currently estimates the Turkish player’s market value at €60 million.
