
Kazakhstani professional Counter-Strike 2 player Danil «molodoy» Golubenko earned victory for his team FURIA, based in Brazil, at the IEM Chengdu 2025 tournament.
The tournament was held in Chengdu, China, with 16 teams participating. FURIA played against Team Vitality in the final.
In an intense series of three matches, the Brazilian team won 3-0, claiming the tournament’s main trophy. The prize pool was $1 million, with the winners receiving $125,000.
After the finals, molodoy was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) and was awarded a gold medal.
This fall, molodoy, playing for the Brazilian team FURIA, won the FISSURE Playground #2 CS2 tournament, which took place in Belgrade, Serbia, from Sept. 12 to Sept. 21, with a $500,000 prize pool. He was also named MVP. At the time, Brazilian footballer Neymar congratulated Golubenko on the victory.
Earlier this November, Golubenko received an exclusive computer mouse designed in the colors of Kazakhstan’s flag from Logitech.
