Harry Kane comments on FC Barcelona transfer rumors

Harry Kane, forward for Bayern Munich and England’s national team, has responded to rumors of a possible transfer to FC Barcelona.
«I haven’t had any contact with anyone, nobody has contacted me. I feel very comfortable in the current situation, even though we haven’t yet discussed my situation with Bayern. There’s no rush. I’m really happy in Munich. You can see that in the way I’m playing,» Bayern & Germany on X quoted Kane as saying, citing German sports journalist Tobias Altschäffl.
Previously, media reported that the Catalan team was considering Kane as the perfect replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The 32-year-old Englishman attracts Barcelona with his high efficiency and young age compared to the 37-year-old Polish player.
Kane’s agreement with Bayern is valid until the summer of 2027 and includes a clause allowing the player to leave the team next summer for $75 million. Presumably, Barcelona’s management were ready to activate this purchase option.
However, the forward assured fans that there is nothing for supporters of the German club to worry about.
«If there’s contact, then we’ll see. But I’m not thinking about the new season yet. First up is the World Cup in the summer. And it’s very unlikely that anything will change after this season,» Kane noted.
Last month, Kane stated that he was ready for negotiations on contract extension with Bayern.
Kane’s career
Kane became the German champion and won the German Super Cup last season. This season, the forward has appeared in 18 matches, scoring 24 goals and providing three assists.
At Tottenham, Kane played 435 matches and recorded 343 goal contributions (280 goals and 63 assists). The English player is the top scorer in the club’s history and the second-highest in the history of the English Premier League (213 goals), behind Alan Shearer (260 goals).
Kane made his debut for England’s national team in March 2015 and is a two-time Euro runner-up (2020, 2024). Over 112 matches, Kane has stood out with 78 goals and 19 assists.
In late October, Kane broke records set by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
