Liverpool head coach Arne Slot said he doesn’t feel on shaky ground following a devastating 4-1 home defeat to PSV.

«I am feeling safe, I am OK, I have got a lot of support from above. It would be nice to turn it around and get a victory, of course, but if you are working as a coach and not doing well then it is normal that questions are asked. I am OK with my position. It is not the first time I’ve been in a difficult position, but it is about time that we turned it around,» The Guardian cited Slot as saying.

Nevertheless, the 47-year-old Dutch coach admitted that he hadn’t spoken to club bosses after the PSV game.

«We talk a lot. They are helpful to the team and to me, and we have those conversations, but they don’t call me every single minute of the day to say they trust me. In the normal conversations we have, I feel the trust. But I haven’t spoken to them after this game yet, so let’s see,» Slot noted.

Reflecting on the match, the coach expressed disappointment over The Reds’ typical mistakes, particularly the missed opportunities and the goal they conceded too easily.

«The emotions are very negative and disappointing… Even when we don’t play well, (we are) able to score two goals and create more chances. But you cannot even compete… because we simply concede too many goals,» Slot told Reuters.

This defeat marks the ninth of 12 losses in all tournaments for Liverpool, which has been the worst 12-match streak since 1953-54, when Winston Churchill was Prime Minister, according to Reuters.
