Rikhi Ram, a man from a small village in the Sirmaur district, India, had lost his memory in a car accident and hadn’t been in touch with his family for 45 years. However, not so long ago, he ended up in another accident that helped him recover his memories, NDTV reported.
In 1980, 16-year-old Ram left Nadi village in search of a job. He found work in a hotel, but on one of his trips, he was involved in a serious car accident. After the head injury, Ram completely forgot his identity and lost contact with his family. His parents died without ever finding their son.
He then lived in Mumbai and later in Nanded, assumed a new identity, got hired at a college, married and had three children.
Several months ago, he ended up in a road accident once again, which triggered the recovery of his memory. In his dreams, Ram saw his childhood home, village swings, mango trees and hill paths. Initially, he didn’t pay much attention, but the images repeated and he told about this his wife. Later, Ram decided to learn about his past.
He eventually found his village and was able to get in touch with villagers who helped him reconnect with people from his community. Ram recalled the names of his remaining relatives and details of his childhood. Now the man is back with his family, who lost him when he was still young.
