In October, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that iconic thrash metal band Megadeth could perform in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstani Kaisar Zhuman told Kursiv that the group’s frontman Dave Mustaine personally shared that the band planned to hold a concert in Kazakhstan during a meet & greet session at the concert in London. Today, Dec. 2, this information was officially confirmed.

Megadeth will give their first solo concert in Almaty at Spartak Stadium on June 28, 2026. The group’s lineup will include permanent front man and guitarist Dave Mustaine, guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, bassist James LoMenzo and drummer Dirk Verbeuren.

Ticket sales will start on Dec. 5 and will be available here.

Megadeth is an iconic Los Angeles-based thrash metal band founded in 1983 by guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson, following the former’s dismissal from Metallica. Over 40 years, the group has released 16 studio albums, sold more than 50 million records worldwide, and received numerous awards, including the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2017. Over the years, more than 20 musicians have been part of the group but Mustaine has been the leader and main songwriter since its foundation. Megadeth, alongside Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer, is recognized as part of the «Big Four» of the genre.

In 2025, Mustaine announced that the upcoming 17th album and the 2026 tour will be the last for the band.

Previously, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that hard rock legend Deep Purple are set to perform in Almaty after almost 20 years — the group will perform at Almaty Arena on April 22, 2026.
