U.S. President Donald Trump presented President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with memorable gifts: symbolic keys to the White House and a baseball cap bearing his signature, according to Tokayev’s aide and press secretary, Ruslan Zheldibay.
The gifts were delivered through Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the United States, Magzhan Ilyasov. In a brief exchange, Trump recalled his November meeting with Tokayev at the Oval Office.

The U.S. president asked that warm wishes be conveyed to the president of Kazakhstan, describing him as a wonderful person and an experienced statesman with a deep and balanced understanding of international affairs.
Tokayev paid a working visit to Washington in November, marking the first in-person meeting between the two presidents since Trump’s return to the White House.
Earlier, in December 2024, the presidents held a telephone conversation in which they discussed prospects for a strategic partnership. The United States is one of Kazakhstan’s key economic partners. According to 2024 data, bilateral trade turnover surpassed $4 billion, marking a record high. A primary area of cooperation is the energy sector, with industry giants such as Chevron and ExxonMobil involved.
