Russian makeup artist and stylist Robert Minasyan has shared memories of working with Aliya Nazarbayeva, the youngest daughter of Kazakhstan’s first president, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Minasyan recounted the story in a video posted on his YouTube channel, describing events that took place nearly two decades ago.
Trip to Almaty and high-paid assignment
According to Minasyan, he was invited to Almaty around 2002 to prepare Nazarbayeva for a birthday celebration. He said he flew in from Moscow specifically for the job and spent several days in Kazakhstan.
«I stayed with them for five days,» he said, describing what he characterized as a nonstop party atmosphere during his visit. He said he was paid $10,000 for one makeup session and spent the rest of the time socializing with the group.
‘Diamond Princess’ and luxury lifestyle
Minasyan also recalled meeting one of Nazarbayeva’s friends, a woman named Svetlana, whom he said was known in their circle as the «diamond princess of Kazakhstan.» The woman was reportedly involved in the diamond business and once arrived at Nazarbayeva’s home carrying a crocodile leather Birkin handbag. He claimed the bag was valued at roughly $50,000.
